I am so excited to welcome Robert J. Duperre to The Well-Read Wife today! Robert is the author of the new fantasy novel, Silas. Today I asked Robert to play a quick game of This or That with me. Have fun reading Robert’s answers below. Also, be sure to keep reading after the This or That segment to learn more about Silas and to see how you can enter to win a Kindle3. While you’re at it stop by Rob’s website, “like” Rob on Facebook, and follow Rob on Twitter!

This or That With Robert J. Duperre

1. Horror or science fiction?

Horror. I like the emotion that a lot of horror novels bring, whereas much of the science fiction I’ve read is rather cold and technical.

2. Physical books or eBooks?

Tossup. I love my Kindle, but I still cherish the feeling of a paper book in my hands from time to time.

3. Spiderman or Superman?

Superman. His backstory is tragic and full of melodrama, which I appreciate. Although if you were to ask me ten years ago, I probably would’ve said Spidey. But over the years, ‘ole Supes has been crafted into a much more balanced character and not such a goody-goody, which makes him just about perfect.

4. Run with the dog or sit on the couch?

Can I split the difference and say sit on a log and throw a stick with the dog? Because that would be my answer.

5. Money or happiness?

Happiness, because as long as I’m happy, my creativity keeps flowing and the money will come.

Thanks for taking the time to play This or That! – Mandy

Silas-cover-art About Silas

Robert J. Duperre, author of The Fall and Dead of Winter, now presents Silas, a contemporary fantasy novel.

Ken Lowery is a man at odds with his life. He hates his job, is disappointed in his marriage, and feels resigned to leading a mundane existence.

That all changes when his wife brings home a rambunctious Black Labrador puppy named Silas, who forges a remarkable connection with Ken and begins to heal his inner turmoil. When some neighborhood children start to go missing, he takes it upon himself to protect those around him and is thrust into a surreal world where monsters roam. Not everything is what it seems to be, he soon discovers, including his new best friend.
