On Wednesday, April 26th I asked the readers of WellReadWife.com to comment on a book review post just like I do with every post. However, this time I stated that I would donate $2.oo from every comment (up to 100 comments) to The Trevor Project. I am quite pleased to announce that the post did indeed receive 100 comments (with a little help from me), and I have made a donation to The Trevor Project for $200.00 from the readers of WellReadWife.com. Why did I choose The Trevor Project? I chose to donate to this organization because, as a mother and former middle school teacher,I firmly believe that the service they provide for LGBTQ youth is extremely important.
About The Trevor Project:
“The Trevor Project is the leading national organization focused on crisis intervention and suicide prevention efforts among LGBTQ youth. Every day, The Trevor Project saves young lives through its free and confidential lifeline, in-school workshops, educational materials, online resources and advocacy. For more information, visit www.TheTrevorProject.org.”
Today, I am making a public pledge to use my influence here at WellReadWife.com to raise awareness and funds for The Trevor Project. I am going to conduct small service projects on WellReadWife.com on a quarterly basis for the next two years. The first project was performed earlier this week. The next service project will take place in mid-August 2011. Stay tuned for how you can help with the next project…
