Summary:
Sick of hearing about vampires? So is Meena Harper.
But her bosses are making her write about them anyway, even though Meena doesn’t believe in them.
Not that Meena isn’t familiar with the supernatural. See, Meena Harper knows how you’re going to die. (Not that you’re going to believe her. No one ever does.)
But not even Meena’s precognition can prepare her for what happens when she meets—then makes the mistake of falling in love with—Lucien Antonescu, a modern-day prince with a bit of a dark side. It’s a dark side a lot of people, like an ancient society of vampire hunters, would prefer to see him dead for.
The problem is, Lucien’s already dead. Maybe that’s why he’s the first guy Meena’s ever met whom she could see herself having a future with. See, while Meena’s always been able to see everyone else’s future, she’s never been able look into her own.
And while Lucien seems like everything Meena has ever dreamed of in a boyfriend, he might turn out to be more like a nightmare.
Now might be a good time for Meena to start learning to predict her own future. . . .
If she even has one. (Summary provided by the publisher.)
My Thoughts:
Are you a girl like me? Do you like vampire books but also love shopping at Neiman’s? Do you enjoy reading a nice relaxing book about werewolves while waiting for your mani/pedi appointment? Then I have just what you need: Paranormal Chick Lit! And Meg Cabot is serving it up full stop in her campy and vampy novel Insatiable! I absolutely loved the Princess Diaries series, however Meg Cabot was never the first author that came to mind when I thought about adult paranormal fiction. That has all changed with Meg Cabot’s Insatiable.
With Insatiable Cabot takes elements of satire and chick lit and makes a wholly original work. Angelique over at Vampires and Tofu called Insatiable “the Scream of paranormal literature” in her Goodreads review of the book, and I couldn’t agree more. Insatiable has some really funny moments, and I think those moments are what make it such a special book. If you’re looking for a book that will both keep you in suspense and have you laughing from beginning to end, this one is for you!

Glad to hear you really enjoyed this one! Cabot is definitely a favorite author and I wasn’t sure how I would feel about Insatiable, so I’ve been putting it on the back burner. Sounds like I need to give it a try, though!
